Membership

Membership

Membership in the Society shall be open to any person who is employed by a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) or is performing Mohs histotechnology services under the auspices of an ACMS member. Members of any classification may attend scientific and social activities of the Society and receive publications as determined by the Board. All members agree to comply with the Articles and Bylaws of the Society. Only Active and Charter Members are entitled to vote, hold office or serve on the Board of Directors or a committee of the Society.

Active Member

An Active member must be employed by or work directly with an American College of Mohs Surgery member surgeon in order to be eligible for membership. A $25 application fee and payment of first year's dues is required for membership to become active. Dues are currently $200 per year (subject to change). If membership lapses due to nonpayment of dues for any given year, a reinstatement fee of $25 will apply. Upon approval of membership, all applicants agree to terms of the ASMH bylaws.

Affiliate Membership

A special class reserved for those ineligible for Active membership, but whose principal livelihood is selling technical supplies and/or technical services, materials or consulting services to Mohs laboratories. A $25 application fee and payment of first year's dues is required for membership to become active. Dues are currently $300 per year (subject to change). Each organization can have two staff associated with their Affiliate membership.

Associate Member

Any individual who while an Active member, ceases to be engaged in Mohs histotechnology may request, to the Board of Directors, reclassification to this category. This reclassification is valid for a maximum of two (2) years after Board approval.

Life Member

An Active member who has reached age 65, been a member in good standing for at least 20 years, or who has retired from the practice of Mohs histotechnology or become disabled (and unable to practice Mohs histotechnology) and has been an active member for at least three years prior to retirement. Charter Member

The only membership category that cannot be applied for. ASMH Charter Members laid the foundation and served as catalysts for the Society's growth to the present day. These are the founding members, and we are grateful for the vision and dedication they embodied at the organizations' onset.

ASMH Bylaws
